Energy Finance Veteran Coleman Adams Joins Nth Cycle as Chief Financial Officer

BOSTON, MA. May 17, 2022Nth Cycle, the innovative metal processing and recycling technology company, is expanding its leadership team with the hiring of Coleman Adams as its Chief Financial Officer. Nth Cycle’s clean and modular electro-extraction technology can reliably salvage critical minerals from various e-waste and low-grade mine tailings using electricity. The company recently announced its $12.5 million Series A funding round, headlined by VoLo Earth, Frankstahl, Mercuria, and Clean Energy Ventures.

“After years of working to finance renewable energy and climate tech companies, this felt like the right moment to join a company creating an outsized impact. I am excited to join Nth Cycle at such a critical moment in the transition to a net-zero economy,” he said. “Critical minerals are the backbone of our clean energy transition and Nth Cycle’s technology ensures a clean and reliable domestic supply of those materials in North America.”

As Nth Cycle’s Chief Financial Officer, Adams will lead all financial operations and play key strategy and leadership roles with the company. Prior to joining Nth Cycle, Adams served in senior positions at a variety of clean energy venture firms. In addition to his most recent work as a Partner at Clean Energy Venture Group, he was the Managing Director of Crescendo Power, a structured and project finance fund focused on energy projects in North America. Prior to Crescendo, Mr. Adams worked in corporate development for Hitachi, where he supported the creation of Hitachi’s North American energy strategy. Mr. Adams holds a BS in Geophysics from the University of Vermont.

“Coleman’s deep experience in guiding the growth and sustainability of renewable energy and climate tech companies will be a considerable asset to our firm as we continue to scale operations,” said Megan O’Connor, CEO of Nth Cycle. “Coleman believes, like we do, that the products enabling our clean energy transition must be as clean as the future we envision. We are eager to benefit from Coleman’s expertise on our leadership team.”

Demand for the critical minerals necessary to power the clean energy transition is growing exponentially. Nth Cycle’s unique, modular electro-extraction technology supports battery recyclers and miners with an alternative or enhancement to older, emissions-intensive hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical processes. Nth Cycle’s technology transforms the outputs of electronics recycling, untapped mining resources, and waste from existing mines into high-purity critical minerals ready to be used in new production.

Nth Cycle has open positions in engineering, business, and the sciences.
